12 Different Cities Hosting EURO 2020
2020 has finally arrived, which means the European championships will be taking place later this year. Punters have already started using bingo promo codes ahead of the event, with England now the general outright favourites. Other sides at the top of the market include the likes of World champions France, Belgium, Spain and defending champions Portugal. This is set to be the 60th birthday of the competition, so it is going to have a unique format. The tournament will be held across 12 different cities, with VAR being implemented. So which are the different cities and stadiums that are set to be used.
- Amsterdam will be the first host city in the Netherlands in the Johan Cruyff Arena. This is the largest stadium in the country and the home of Ajax. It has a capacity of 54,990. They will be hosting matches from Group C.
- Baku is another city to be hosting in Azerbaijan. This will be in the Olympic Stadium. It is used for the national side and has a capacity of 68,700. They will be hosting matches from Group A.
- Bilbao in Spain is another city that has been chosen. This will be in the San Mames Stadium. It is home to Athletic Bilbao and is the 8th largest stadium in the country. It has a capacity of 53,289 and will be hosting matches from Group E.
- Another city to have been chosen is Bucharest in Romania. This will be in the Arena Nationala. It is the largest stadium in the country with a capacity of 55,634. It is also used as the venue for the national side and they will be hosting matches from Group C.
- Budapest in Hungary is another city to have been chosen. This will be in the Puskas Arena. They will be hosting matches from Group F and the stadium has a capacity of 67,215.
- Another city to have been chosen is Copenhagen in Denmark. This will be in the Parken Stadium, which has a capacity of 38,065. This is also the venue for the national side. They will be hosting matches from Group B.
- Dublin is another city to have been chosen, which is located in the Republic of Ireland. This will be in the Aviva Stadium, which has a capacity of 51,700. They will be hosting matches from Group E.
- Glasgow in Scotland is another city to have been selected. This will be in Hampden Park, which has a capacity of 51,866. This is the venue for the national side, with the city hosting matches from Group D.
- As expected, London has been chosen in England with the matches taking place at Wembley Stadium. This will also be the venue hosting both of the semi-finals and the final, alongside the matches in Group D. It is the venue for the national side and has a capacity of 90,000.
- Munich in Germany is another city to have been selected, with the matches set to take place in the Allianz Arena. The stadium has a capacity of 70,000 for international matches and is the home of FC Bayern Munich. They will be hosting matches from Group F.
- Rome in Italy has also been selected, with the matches taking place at the Stadio Olimpico. They will be hosting matches from Group A. It has a capacity of 70,634 and is the home stadium for both Lazio and Roma.
- Saint Petersburg in Russia is the final city to have been selected. The matches will be taking place at the Krestovsky Stadium, which has a capacity of 67,800. It is the home of FC Zenit Saint Petersburg and they will be hosting matches from Group B.
